A Visit From an Old Friend

The Rebecca's riding in the truck!
My first job was at the mall, working in retail. While working there I met a sweet, red headed girl, Cheryl, and we instantly became friends. This friend taught me to drive a standard, how to cross stitch and I'm not even going to venture down the lane of all the dancing. She moved out of state after she married some 15 yrs. ago. I have since seen her about a handful of times, and the opportunity arrived a few weeks ago. Her and her 7 yr old daughter, Rebecca, drove to our house from SA where they were site seeing, and spent the afternoon with us. Her husband and twin sons stayed home this trip. Anyway here are a few pictures from their visit.

My FIRST Post...baby steps

Ok, so I've typed and deleted my first post so many times I've lost track. I can't tie my thoughts together in some clever, witty way, so I'm skipping that for now and just posting. And those that know me, know I like capturing the moment with a picture. So here are a few moments from my day.
After Hubby left for work he told me of a lil something at the end of the street that the kids would be interested in seeing. "Kids, get your shoes on". Westin, "Oh man, are we going walking?". Noooo, of course not, now get moving!
The kids are obviously F-A-S-C-I-N-A-T-E-D
Ewwwww, it's a caged possum. YEEEES, I know it's one of God's creatures, but still!
Needless to say it was an interesting way to start our day. After all, you might be looking at pictures of a harried mom with screaming children running around her own backyard with this possum in hot pursuit ~ luckily you're not.
....note of thanks to GFC for encouraging me to 'jump off the ledge' and just start (Yep, my big girl panties are on)! :D
